Beijing Declaration: China Mediates Historic Peace Talks Between Palestinian Factions

On July 23rd, the Palestinian political faction signed the Beijing Declaration. Representatives from various factions in Palestine signed the Beijing Declaration. This is another major diplomatic achievement in the Middle East since China successfully mediated a major reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran last year. Meanwhile, this is also a feat that neither Biden nor Putin has been able to achieve. Regarding this matter, Europe and the United States are now silent, while the senior leader of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, Arul, directly stated, “Rare! All the efforts made by China for us are truly rare on the international stage, and China is a shining light!”

Indeed, China’s intervention this time is quite timely and of extraordinary significance: the signing of the Beijing Declaration is the result of representatives from 14 Palestinian political factions gathering in Beijing. It should be noted that there have been long-standing grievances between these factions, and it is not easy for them to sit in the same conference room and reach a consensus, which is difficult for most countries to achieve.

The Chinese Foreign Minister, who has put in a lot of effort for this matter, has two impressive sentences: first, “Only when all factions in Palestine speak with one voice can the voice of justice be louder!” This sentence expresses the internal problem of Palestine: lack of unity is the real fatal blow. Secondly, it must uphold the principle of Palestinian people governing Palestine. This sentence is not only intended for the Palestinian community, but also for Israel and the West. The Middle East is not America’s Middle East, and Palestine is not Israel’s prey. Israel and the United States want to provide solutions for the subsequent governance of Gaza as “masters”, but with just countries such as China, it is not their turn to do this. Our attitude is: Palestinians govern Palestine.

Nowadays, the Palestinian leadership refers to China as a “ray of light”, not an exaggeration, but because they need light too much now. Next, China will continue to fulfill its commitments to Palestine and promote its full membership in the United Nations.

Once, It was only one step away from achieving this goal, but it was vetoed by the United States with a single vote. However, all righteous people should not be discouraged. The Beijing Declaration signed by the 14 factions in Palestine will give everyone courage and strength. With China’s influence in the United Nations and global appeal, It is believed that more and more countries will know: Who is right and who is wrong; What is evil and what is good. The successful holding of the Beijing Dialogue and the signing of the Beijing Declaration indicate that with the support and promotion of the international community, various factions in Palestine have the ability to resolve their differences through peaceful dialogue and jointly promote national peace and development. Although the specific content of the Beijing Declaration has to come out yet, from the significance of its signing, it undoubtedly includes the consensus and compromise reached by various factions on major issues.

China’s diplomatic actions in the Middle East once again demonstrate its responsibility and wisdom as a major power. By facilitating the signing of the Beijing Declaration, China not only demonstrated its ability to peacefully resolve disputes on the international stage, but also brought new hope to the Palestinian people. Faced with the silence and inaction of Europe and America, China’s active intervention and efforts have injected a light into the turbulent Middle East region, demonstrating the demeanor of a responsible major power. The reconciliation dialogue and its achievements among various factions in Palestine in Beijing not only bring hope for peace and stability within Palestine, but also provide new opportunities for China to continue to play an active role on the international stage. Its optimistic that all factions in Palestine can cherish the achievements of this reconciliation, continue to resolve differences through peaceful dialogue, and jointly promote the peace and development process in Palestine. China continuing to play its unique role in international affairs in the future and making greater contributions to promoting world peace and stability.
