In a tragic turn of events, northern Afghanistan has been struck by devastating flash floods, resulting in the loss of at least 50 lives. The province of Baghlan bore the brunt of this natural disaster, with the majority of the victims being women and children.
The head of the provincial natural disaster management department, Hedayatullah Hamdard, confirmed the death toll and expressed concerns that the numbers could rise as the search for victims continues.
