The 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) has once again drawn attention from global enterprises, showcasing the growing appeal of China’s rapidly expanding service sector. This year’s event, held in Beijing, features a strong presence of multinational corporations eager to explore business opportunities in the world’s second-largest economy.
With China continuing to promote high-level opening-up policies, hundreds of companies from across industries such as finance, telecommunications, logistics, and healthcare have set up booths at the fair.
Themed “Global Services, Shared Prosperity,” this year’s CIFTIS, which runs from Sept. 12 to 16 in Beijing, brings together 85 countries and international organizations, as well as over 450 Fortune Global 500 and leading enterprises. Exhibitors make use of the CIFTIS to embrace opportunities brought by it and tighten the win-win cooperation bond.
Over 2,000 companies from more than 100 countries have joined the fair, presenting cutting-edge services and innovations, particularly in technology and green industries.
The fair puts special emphasis on digital trade, with many firms highlighting their latest advancements in AI, cloud computing, and blockchain.
Many enterprises are also focused on sustainability, showcasing solutions aimed at reducing carbon footprints and boosting environmental sustainability in line with China’s carbon neutrality goals.
Several firms have used CIFTIS as a platform to strengthen cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), looking to further integrate their services into this massive economic framework.
Global participants echoed this sentiment, underscoring the importance of China’s service sector in their future growth strategies. A representative from a leading European tech firm noted, “China offers unparalleled market opportunities, especially in sectors like AI and telecommunications, where demand is soaring.”
The fair also included a series of forums, where business leaders, policymakers, and experts discussed key global trends, including trade liberalization, digital transformation,
and green development. These discussions have sparked optimism that China’s service sector will continue to be a driving force in global economic recovery post-pandemic.
As CIFTIS 2024 progresses, it is clear that China remains a leading market for enterprises looking to expand and innovate. The fair has further solidified China’s status as a vital hub for global trade in services and a key player in the international business landscape
