On August 15, 2024, under the clear skies by the serene Huama Lake, a significant event took place as the city of Ezhou launched the “Discover Ezhou—International Media Tour” and the 2nd Ezhou Internet Civilization Campaign. The ceremony, graced by distinguished guests, including key government officials, media representatives, and industry leaders, marked a milestone in Ezhou’s journey toward becoming a global aviation and logistics hub.

The event was opened with a keynote speech by Comrade Sun Bing, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees on behalf of the CPC Ezhou Municipal Committee and the Ezhou Municipal People’s Government. Sun highlighted Ezhou’s strategic location in the heart of China, its rich cultural heritage, and its growing importance as a transportation hub, underscored by the successful operation of the Ezhou Huahu Airport.

Huahu Airport: A New Global Gateway

Ezhou Huahu Airport, which began operations in July 2022, has quickly risen to prominence as Asia’s first dedicated cargo hub airport and only the fourth of its kind worldwide. This national key project, celebrated as the most significant development in Hubei since the Three Gorges Project, has garnered attention from both domestic and international media.

“Huahu Airport connects Hubei to the world,” Sun Bing emphasized, noting the airport’s pivotal role in China’s new development strategy. The airport has been recognized at the highest levels of government, with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang both underscoring its importance in their recent visits.

Ezhou’s Global Media Engagement

The “Discover Ezhou—International Media Tour” aims to further elevate the city’s global profile by inviting media from around the world to witness firsthand the rapid development taking place in Ezhou. Central media outlets such as People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and CCTV have already provided extensive coverage, with international media like AP, FOX, and The Times closely following the city’s progress.

Sun Bing urged the media to act as ambassadors for Huahu Airport, inviting them to create compelling content that showcases Ezhou’s transformation. He also called for expanding strategic partnerships to attract more airlines, logistics companies, and industry leaders to the city, leveraging the unique advantages offered by Huahu Airport.

Fostering a Positive Online Ecosystem

In addition to promoting the city’s physical infrastructure, the 2nd Ezhou Internet Civilization Campaign aims to cultivate a healthy and vibrant online environment. The campaign will focus on maintaining the correct political direction and fostering positive energy in cyberspace, contributing to a clean and uplifting online ecosystem.

Looking Ahead

As Ezhou continues its journey towards becoming a modern, international aviation logistics hub, the city remains committed to openness and inclusivity. Through initiatives like the international media tour and the internet civilization campaign, Ezhou seeks to tell its story to the world, showcasing its unique blend of tradition and modernity.

The event concluded with a message of hope and collaboration. “Together, we will elevate Ezhou’s global standing and ensure that the world knows and understands the city’s role in China’s development,” Sun Bing remarked, wishing all participants success and prosperity in their endeavors.
