A Saudi Airlines flight from Riyadh caught fire upon landing at Pakistan’s Peshawar Bacha Khan International Airport on Thursday, prompting a swift evacuation of all passengers and crew members to safety, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said in a statement.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 PM local time when the aircraft. According to the CAA, the fire broke out in the plane’s tyre shortly after touchdown.
Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the scene, where they successfully extinguished the fire within minutes. All 276 passengers and 21 crew members were safely evacuated with an inflatable slide.
