Hezbollah has launched over 200 rockets towards northern Israel today, significantly escalating the conflict in the region. This marks one of the most intense days of fighting since the current hostilities began.
Starting in the early hours of the morning, a barrage of rockets fired from southern Lebanon has targeted several cities in northern Israel, including Haifa, Nahariya, and Kiryat Shmona. Israeli authorities have activated the Iron Dome defense system, successfully intercepting many of the incoming rockets. However, some have landed in populated areas, causing significant damage and injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that several civilians have been injured, with at least two in critical condition. There are also reports of widespread property damage, including residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure. Emergency services are on high alert and responding to the affected areas.
In a statement broadcasted by Hezbollah‘s Al-Manar TV, the group claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks, citing them as a response to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza and Lebanon. They warned of further actions if what they describe as “Israeli aggression” continues.
