In a significant move, Jordan has announced the temporary closure of its airspace as tensions escalate in the region following Iran’s retaliation against Israel. The decision came into effect on Saturday, with the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority citing the need to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation within Jordanian airspace.

The closure follows a deadly airstrike on Iran’s consulate building in Damascus, which Iran has attributed to Israel. In response, Iran has launched dozens of drones towards Israel, prompting both Israel and Jordan to shut their airspaces amid fears of a wider regional conflict.

The situation remains fluid, with Jordan declaring a state of emergency across all governorates. This measure comes as the country braces for potential repercussions from the ongoing hostilities between Iran and Israel.
