Norway joins Denmark and the Netherlands in donating F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine

Norway has announced that it will donate F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, becoming the third European country to do so after Denmark and the Netherlands. The decision was made by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during his visit to Kyiv on Thursday, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and attended the celebrations of Ukraine’s Independence Day.

The number and the delivery date of the F-16 jets have not been specified yet, but Gahr Støre said that Norway would discuss the details with Kyiv and other allied countries. He also said that Norway would provide anti-aircraft missiles and training for Ukrainian fighter jet pilots as part of its support for Ukraine’s efforts to build a modern air defense system.
