Pakistan sets deadline for undocumented Afghan nationals to leave the country

Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has announced that all Afghan nationals who do not have valid visas or residency permits must leave the country by November 1, 2023, or face fines and imprisonment.

According to Pakistani officials, more than 1.73 million Afghans have entered Pakistan illegally since the unrest and the Taliban’s takeover.

The deadline has sparked fear and uncertainty among the Afghan community in Pakistan, who face an uncertain future in their war-torn homeland.
