Poland doubles troops at border with Belarus amid migration and security fears

Poland has announced that it will send an additional 2,000 soldiers to its border with Belarus, doubling the number of troops already deployed there, as it faces growing pressure from illegal migration and security threats from its eastern neighbor.

The decision was made by the Polish government on Wednesday, following a request from the Border Guard agency, which said it needed more support to deal with the influx of migrants and refugees from the Middle East and Africa, who are allegedly being facilitated by the Belarusian authorities.
