A press center for China‘s upcoming annual legislative and political consultative sessions opened on Tuesday at the Media Center Hotel in Beijing, attracting more than 3,000 journalists from home and abroad.
The press center will provide a range of services and measures to make the work of domestic and foreign journalists more convenient, such as electronic versions of the main conference documents, interview rooms at the accommodation of NPC deputies and members of the CPPCC National Committee, and online platforms for press conferences and interviews.
The second session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) and the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will open on March 5 and 4, respectively.
The two sessions, as the annual gatherings of China’s top legislature and political advisory body are known, are widely regarded as a window into China’s political, economic, and social development.
According to the press center, more than 1,000 journalists from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and abroad have registered to cover the two sessions, including reporters from the United States, Japan, Russia, France, Germany, Britain, and Australia.
The press center will operate until the end of the two sessions.
