Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and a rising star in the Republican presidential race proposed to end U.S. military aid to Israel after 2028. Ramaswamy, who claims to be a political outsider with fresh ideas, said that he supports Israel’s security, but believes that the Jewish state should not receive more aid than its Middle Eastern neighbors.
He said that he would expand the Abraham Accords, the normalization deals between Israel and Arab countries, and integrate Israel into the economic and security infrastructure of the region. He argued that this would make Israel more stable and independent, and reduce its dependence on U.S. assistance.
