The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently introduced a new visa scheme that aims to attract more tourists and strengthen its status as a global economic capital. The five-year multi-entry tourist visa is available to citizens of all countries who want to visit the UAE for leisure or business purposes. It allows visitors to enter several times over a calendar year or stay for 90 days at a stretch and extend it for another 90 days without leaving the country.

The visa also works as a self-sponsored visa as individuals can apply for it themselves directly online and do not need to apply via a travel agency, hotel or relative in the UAE.

The new visa scheme is expected to benefit expatriate families who make frequent trips to the UAE to meet with their loved ones, such as aged parents of residents, children who study abroad, and other relatives. It will also reduce the costs of constantly applying for visit visas for expatriates.

Moreover, the visa will facilitate business travellers who want to travel into the UAE at a moment’s notice without having to worry about applying for visas repeatedly. This will provide them with easy accessibility and flexibility for longer periods of time.

The new visa scheme is also seen as a boost for the tourism sector, which has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The UAE hopes to establish itself as a major global tourism destination by offering visitors more options and incentives to explore its attractions and culture.

The five-year multi-entry tourist visa will allow tourists to plan multiple trips to the UAE and enjoy its diverse offerings, such as shopping, entertainment, heritage, sports, adventure, and more. The visa will also encourage longer and more frequent stays in the country, which will increase spending and contribute to the economic growth of the UAE.

The five-year multi-entry tourist visa is one of several reforms announced by the UAE Cabinet recently to enhance its competitiveness and attractiveness for investors, entrepreneurs, qualified individuals and families.

The UAE has also launched a remote work visa that allows professionals from all over the world to live and work remotely from the UAE while remaining employed by their companies abroad. These initiatives reflect the UAE’s vision and ambition to be a leading hub for innovation, talent, and opportunity in the region and beyond.
