Ukraine purchased Turkish drones to deploy in the Donbas conflict zone that can put Russia and Turkey as a contemporary in a direct arms competition.

Russian President Vladimir Putin while speaking on a telephone call with his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan told that Ukraine is using Turkish Bayraktar drones which is a violation of the Minsk peace agreement.

Turkish drones were also used in South-Caucasus during the Nagorno-Karabakh war by Azerbaijani forces against Armenia.

For Russia to accept the Turkish intervention in Donbas, Ukraine would be a litmus test for Turkey-Russia relations.

Turkey has been in continued gambling its ties with different countries. Turkish footprints in South Caucasus are another factor that is not acceptable for the regional players.
