The Houthis in Yemen has issued a stark warning to the United States and Israel, threatening to wage war if either nation launches military action against Iran.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree declared in a televised address that any aggression against Iran would trigger a coordinated response from the “Axis of Resistance,” including Houthi forces, Hezbollah, and other Iran-aligned groups across the region. The statement comes amid heightened tensions over stalled nuclear talks between Iran and world powers, with U.S. officials signaling potential military measures if diplomacy fails.
The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, including the capital Sana’a, have intensified attacks on Saudi Arabia and Red Sea shipping routes in recent months, showcasing their growing arsenal of drones and missiles supplied by Iran. Saree claimed the group’s forces are “fully prepared” to target U.S. and Israeli interests, including naval assets and regional bases, should conflict erupt. The warning follows reports of the U.S. partially evacuating its embassy in Baghdad and repositioning military assets in the Middle East.
