Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said Friday that it has identified tens of “spies and terrorist elements” affiliated with Israel’s intelligence service Mossad in 28 countries across Asia, Africa and Europe.
The ministry made the remarks in a statement published on its website while elaborating on the results of its “biggest” hybrid intelligence and counterintelligence operations against Israel.
It said its forces gathered a “unique and unprecedented” collection of sensitive intelligence related to Israel, including intelligence and security data, as well as information about some of Israel’s most hidden military facilities, arms factories, and strategic non-military industries.
According to the statement, the ministry has arrested a number of Mossad-linked criminals who had been involved in several “terrorist operations and acts of sabotage” in Iran.
It said “spies” identified in the capital Tehran and some other provinces were either prosecuted or under security surveillance, adding that several Iranian “spies” abroad were also identified.
The ministry noted that it had handed over the information of the “foreign spies” it identified abroad to relevant security services of the states they reside or operate in.
